Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Very Best Band (Sharon, Lois & Bram) From: GUEST Date: 10 Mar 17 - 01:53 PM A piccolo can never play a low note. All the notes it plays are high. And that's the reason, I prefer to play a piccolo. That's the version I had as as child. Though listening to different publications, I noticed on my son's newer dvd, some of the songs have different lyrics. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Very Best Band (Sharon, Lois & Bram) From: Little Robyn Date: 13 Apr 11 - 12:04 AM OK, I've found a site with about 100 or more of their lyrics here but it doesn't have the one you're looking for. So we're just playing through our old recordings of The Elephant Show and the granddaughter is enjoying them too - I recorded them for her Mum over 20 years ago. There are some bits that are hard to hear so the words mightn't be quite right. I hope you have an idea of the tune because each verse is slightly different. The first verse is sung all the way through the song, not just as a chorus but as part of the accompaniment. The very best band We have a band, the very best band, In all the land, in all the land, in all the land x2 (Repeat throughout the rest of the song as accompaniment ) We have an electric bass, it's played with taste, It takes the place of a ju ba ju x2 The piccolo can never play alone(or 'a low') 'cos all the notes it hits are high And that's the reason why I will never play the piccolo x2 We have a trombone, slide trombone Trom bom bom bom bom bom slide trombone x2 And as the trumpeter starts to play so staccato I can feel my knees shake obligato Isn't it grand that glorious trumpet sound x2 We have a tinkley plunky and a little bit funky We got a rickety ragtime piano x2 Good luck with that! Cheers, Robyn |

Subject: Lyr Req: The Very Best Band (Sharon, Lois & Bram) From: Jim Dixon Date: 11 Apr 11 - 11:27 PM In another thread about a different song, a guest asked for lyrics to THE VERY BEST BAND, sung by Sharon, Lois, and Bram. I found that Sharon, Lois, and Bram sing THE VERY BEST BAND on their album "Singing & Swinging" (1980, reissued 2005). |
