Subject: RE: Musical familes From: KingBrilliant Date: 19 Dec 02 - 08:46 AM We have a vertical strand of musicality in our family. Amoret (my daughter) sings & plays whatever she picks up, I sing & play guitar, my dad has a wonderful voice - but doesn't like performing, his mother played piano while his father sang (performed at private parties as a young couple), her mother was well known for a beautiful and powerful contralto in church. Subject: RE: Musical familes From: GUEST,Guest Date: 19 Dec 02 - 08:22 AM HI Tam, Your family sounds interesting, but do any of them sing? I mean on stage, parties or karaoke? Or are any of them entertainers? We don,t need their names just he or she brother/sister etc. Who else has a talented family out there? |

Subject: RE: Musical familes From: Richie Date: 18 Dec 02 - 11:09 PM Hi Tam the Bam, On my father's side: my grandmother was a concert pianist who graduated from Lander College when she was 15, and my grandfather was head of the Music Dept. at the University of South Carolina. He was a singer and dabbled at collecting ballads. In the 1930's he collected ballads from Nathan Hicks and others at Beech Mountain, NC publishing only one book, "Beach Mountain Ballads" with G.Shirmer. My mother is a pianist and teacher, my brother plays the harmonica and sings. I play guitar and sing. Because of my family, I decided to go into music full-time and have been able to support my family and enjoy performing and teaching. There's more info about me at my website: Click here I enjoy doing folk research at Mudcat, and want to share my work with others, Richie |

Subject: RE: Musical familes From: BusbitterfraeScotland Date: 18 Dec 02 - 08:54 PM As for Coco, I know that I've put the names of my family in this message, however I know that you won't like that however a lot of people do that on this website. And the others aren't interested in where those people live. Tom P.S. Unless you put their adresses on it which I wont. |
