On the American tour he taught Karen and Connie how to make proper tea and they were completely captivated! Wayne and I on the other hand showed the lad how to prepare and eat a proper rib! It was a wonderful day and one we will never forget. Our best to you Ian on your travels and study. Spaw, Karen, Tristan, Michael, Wayne, Connie, Ricky, & David |
Subject: RE: Ian Stephenson makes tea in Finland From: AKS Date: 08 Jan 03 - 05:43 AM Oh yes we are ready as ever, with every -20 down to -40 centigrade we've been living with since Christmas now! Hope he will get along with our worst winter frosts in some 60 years - and the forecasts promise no relief at least in a week or so. Tervetuloa Ian! AKS (seems that I'm the only MCer in Finland - or perhaps the others are too shy to come up?) ps I am pretty sure that he is going to bump into one of these in Helsinki. |
Subject: RE: Ian Stephenson makes tea in Finland From: mouldy Date: 08 Jan 03 - 02:29 AM Well at least the considerate British weather made a feeble attempt to get him acclimatised before he went! I hope he enjoys himself, but as long as there's music around him, I daresay he will. I wonder if he too will find some traditional Scandinavian instrument to fall in love with, like Sam has done? Yep, Eric, I agree about the coffee, but I think he's a dedicated tea-drinker. Andrea |
Subject: RE: Ian Stephenson makes tea in Finland From: Noreen Date: 07 Jan 03 - 07:22 PM Excellent news, hope he has a wonderful time! Thanks for telling us, Jellybeam. Can I have another bass lesson sometime please? :0) |
Subject: RE: Ian Stephenson makes tea in Finland From: CarolC Date: 07 Jan 03 - 06:58 PM Fantastic! Traditional Finnish music is my favorite kind to play! If you ever make it back to the States after you finish your studies in Helsinki, Ian, maybe you can show me everything I'm doing incorrectly. (I don't think I've ever heard anyone do it the correct way. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard anyone besides me play trad. Finnish music at all.) |
