Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Rapparee Date: 03 Nov 04 - 10:12 PM Anyone note that Kerry's concession was actually a class act? By doing so he effectively stopped such as mess as happened last time -- the lawsuits, etc. Well, the country will survive. These mountains have been here a very long time. It'll just be more aggravation in my life. But don't forget about the "Second Term Curse." Nixon, Clinton, Johnson (not his second elected term, true), even Reagan were all visited by ugliness in their second terms. And if you're in deep enough, even your own party will turn on you. |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Bobert Date: 03 Nov 04 - 09:39 PM Well, LH, she ought to get paid 'cause she's prolly a lot better than I am at it... Awww, heck... I really thought Oct 5th would be the day> No it ain't like a 600 fott Jesus came to me in a dream 'er nuthin' but I felt purdy good about the 5th. I didn't even bother the WGSL on this one, that's how sure I was... Oh well, now that we got anothder 4 years of Bush I reckon that means another 4 years of his cousin Osoma.... Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Little Hawk Date: 03 Nov 04 - 08:44 PM Impeachment is simply not enough in his case, Stilly. Well, Bobert, it appears that the slide rule got it right, as I expected. Unscientific, but accurate. It is unfair of Wolfgang to compare you to Jeane Dixon. She gets paid for predicting! :-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Stilly River Sage Date: 03 Nov 04 - 06:18 PM Bill D, I left my Kerry/Edwards sign out in the yard today, no furtive removal of the sign by me. I probably will leave it for a couple of days more just as a reminder to passersby that even though he lost this was still a candidate to be proud of. Monday morning quarterbacking will drive me as nuts as the ads did, so I'm not watching much news for a while. But I can live with the simple reminder in the yard. Anyone taking bets that Dubya will be impeached or indicted on war crimes or other criminal activity before he's out of office, ala Nixon? It has all the markers for a Nixon repeat. SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: GUEST Date: 03 Nov 04 - 11:52 AM Wolfgang, I think you are taking the numbers a little too seriously. It ain't always about the numbers. Sometimes it's about the omens, like whether the Washington Rednecks win or lose... |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Wolfgang Date: 03 Nov 04 - 11:49 AM I hate to say it but, seeing as I have been predicting the Bush would be re-selected (Bobert) LOL, Bobert. You are the Jeane Dixon of Mudcat. Making many different predictions and brag about the occasional hit with a fifty fifty chance of being correct. I'm staking out October 2nd.... Official Rules: Once a date has been taken it is taken. I'm changing to Tuesday, Oct. 5th I'm stickin' with my October 4th prediction... (the word 'stick' here is a clever trick, Bobert, spoken like a true politician) These were in the order of appearence Bobert's prediction for the capture date of Osama. It is fun to read old threads about Osama being captured (found dead). So much political wisdom and foresight united. Wolfgang |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: GUEST Date: 03 Nov 04 - 11:11 AM Hey Bobert--you and the WGSR were the most right in the prediction game, so you umm....win... ...4 more years of Dumbya and Rummie. Cheers ya right the hell up doesn't it? Either that, or slap you sober. But hey, on the bright side, Nader did pretty damn good in my voting district AND up there on the Iron Range in the Great White North, he even got a couple hundred votes! But ah, Bobert, what was that we were saying about Pennsylvania being Bush county? Man, did we get that one wrong, eh? |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: *daylia* Date: 03 Nov 04 - 09:21 AM My heart aches for America too. But if and when you do seek refuge in the Great White North, just remember to leave any wars, handguns and fundamentalist rhetoric behind. Please? And thankyou. Now here's some good news. According to this CBC report, 4 more years of being Bushwhacked might be just what the doctor ordered for Canada! Apparently though Mr Kerry's foreign policies appear to be more in tune with Canada's than Mr Bush's, he would continue penalizing the softwood lumber industry, stop Toronto from shipping it's garbage to Michigan, and continue banning the sale of Canadian beef. Gee, I never considered any of that. Maybe I should work on feeling a bit more celebratory this morning. Ok, here goes .... :-( ... !@#$%$##@!! :-( ... !@#$%$#&!! :-/ *sigh* I think I just need a little more time, eh? |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Bobert Date: 03 Nov 04 - 09:11 AM Shoot, Bill. Look at last time. Bush lost and still considered that a mandate. He only knows one trick and is too stubborn to try to learn a new one... Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Bill D Date: 03 Nov 04 - 09:08 AM almost 55 million of us tried our best...., but it doesn't look good..if that's the way it continues, I hope no one considers it a 'mandate'... |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Little Hawk Date: 03 Nov 04 - 09:03 AM You bet we would welcome her in Canada. The more intelligent and compassionate among Americans have been migrating north to Canada ever since the late 1700's and I don't expect it to stop soon... Come to where there actually IS some freedom, rather than living where it just gets talked about endlessly, I say. And if you want even more freedom, there's always Sweden or Icleland or maybe Denmark. Places where you don't get told you're living in "the greatest country on Earth" from the time you're a toddler. Places where your kids aren't lined up like good little fascists to salute the flag every morning. Places where patriotism occurs quietly and naturally in people's hearts, instead of by daily indoctrination. Places that haven't bombed 25 or more other countries in the last 50 years. Bobert - That's okay, buddy, I understand all about the slide rule. I have a nasty feeling that your prediction is going to be fulfilled shortly. |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: dianavan Date: 03 Nov 04 - 04:20 AM Thats right. Susan. Canada hopes for international diplomacy. Intelligent people know when its time to get up and go. My heart aches for America. Lets hope Ohio pulls through for Kerry. But if not... Canada is something to think about - especially if you have kids. d |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: DougR Date: 03 Nov 04 - 03:08 AM Susan A-R: I'm sure that Canadian Mudcatters would welcome you with open arms. If not, there is always Mexico! DougR |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Susan A-R Date: 03 Nov 04 - 12:23 AM Not sure if I can either pay taxes or continue to live in a place where folks are willing to vote for someone who has so little of the common taxpayer/worker's interests in mind. I hope that you are wrong Robert. Otherwise it's conversations with Canadian Immigration lawyers for me. It breakes my heart to see the man who is undermining the constitution, killing off young Americans, selling us all for oil, giving corporations everything, and doing it all in the name of security and morality winning the election. What a creep. To my way of thinking voter intimidation should be a felony (never get to vote again) and Folks should be required to take basic logic before voting. What a mess. Hope you are wrong with all my heart. |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Rustic Rebel Date: 03 Nov 04 - 12:06 AM Still too soon to say. Life is full of surprises though. |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Peace Date: 03 Nov 04 - 12:06 AM The Alberta Abacus says for sure it won't be Nader. That you can count on. |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Rapparee Date: 03 Nov 04 - 12:02 AM Actually, using a slide rule takes more math skills than using a calculator. I myself have four slide rules -- three 10 inchers and a six incher. Man who can't use a slide rule properly ain't edikated hardly a-tall. Now, my slide rules tell me that I ain't gonna make no prediction right now. But if I did, I figger that the next President of these here United States would be George W. Bush or maybe John Kerry. One or the other, that's certain sure. |

Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Bobert Date: 02 Nov 04 - 11:56 PM Now, now, now, LHawk.... I'm sure, after 3 years of this ol' hillbilly hanging 'round the Catbvox that yeo certainly know about the Wes Ginny Slide Rule but... ... if you haven't, the WGSL is my buddy. We'z been thru a lot together an'.... sniff... I gotta admit.... that's it the bes' friend I got... Well, okay, maybe next to the P-Vine..... So I reckon if Iz stupid than, hey, Iz stupid but that is a different matter. Bottom line, WGSL is sticken to its story... Hay, I ain't too wild about Bush but this is outtta my hands... Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Little Hawk Date: 02 Nov 04 - 11:48 PM I didn't think there was anyone out there stupid enough to still be using a slide rule... :-) Guess I was wrong, eh? |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Bobert Date: 02 Nov 04 - 10:27 PM Hey, tell the Wes Ginny Slide Rule that!!! B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Stilly River Sage Date: 02 Nov 04 - 10:08 PM Bobert, you posted this before the polls closed and the western states haven't begun to be heard from. Settle down. Don't jump the gun. |
Subject: BS: Wes Ginny Slide Rule Declares Bush Win From: Bobert Date: 02 Nov 04 - 09:42 PM Well, folks, I hate to say it but, seeing as I have been predicting the Bush would be re-selected, now the Wes Ginny Slide Rule has finally seen enough and has declared Bush the winner. Sorry, but its looking like 4 more years of crap! But the good news: Iraq won't be Kerry's problem in 3 months. It will be the guys who screwed up and got the US into this mess. Plus the Medicare prescription reform is going to be a colosal mess. Plus there's going to come a time when Joe Sixpack ain't all that interested in Bush's "moral issues" as much as he is about his friggin', ahhhhhh, job... Bobert & the Wes Ginny Slide Rule |
