Subject: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: *daylia* Date: 11 Oct 07 - 12:38 PM Dear Catters, I am very concerned about a dear friend I met on Mudcat a couple years ago. After over 6 months of almost daily correspondence, I have not heard from Ivor (autolycus) since Sept 20. That was also the last day he posted here on Mudcat. THis is definitely not like him. I have tried to phone him, and am told the number is out of service. I don't know anyone in his family, or anyone who lives near him (in the UK) who could check on him. In his last email, he said he had a cold, and would get back to me in more detail when his energy came back. I don't think his energy has come back. Intuition tells me he is in the hospital -- and I know he had heart surgery a few years ago, and he ain't no spring chicken =[ and I am worried, sitting here thousands of miles away ... so I am asking for your good thoughts, healing prayers, loving energy --- whatever you do to help people in situations like this -- for my friend and fellow Catter, Ivor. Thank you very much, and if anyone has any knowledge about whats going on with him, please let me know .... daylia |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: Ebbie Date: 11 Oct 07 - 01:25 PM I hope he's just busy but I'll add my good thoughts, daylia. I visualise him with golden sparklies all about. |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: katlaughing Date: 11 Oct 07 - 01:46 PM I have enjoyed his postings and him since he joined. Good thoughts and thanks givings going out for him from here. Here are a few clues, though probably not that helpful: Born London,England, there till '74, mostly Norwich, Norfolk since. One set of grandparents from Odessa,Ukraine(before then in the Austro-Hungarian Empire - so 200 years ago the family name was Mozart, but it then drifted). Another grandparent from Lithuania, and 4th from Yorkshire. Been around a little, now rather hermit-like (with books,LPs, and older daughter). Here's a mention of where he livd when he posted this: Is it too late to say hello from Norwich, Norfolk? His mum is 91 and lives in |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: *daylia* Date: 12 Oct 07 - 08:58 AM Golden sparklies! Mmmmmm ..... thats wonderful, Ebbie. And thanks kat, for the good wishes and family info. He does live in Norwich, but I think you meant Ivor's mum is in London (England). He often spends the weekends there, looking after her. Thanks to all who've read this and are doing whatever you can to help. Hoping to get some news, very soon. |

Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: Hollowfox Date: 13 Oct 07 - 10:03 AM I'll fire up a #$@!-reduction candle when I go home for lunch in two hours. good thoughts from work until then. |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: *daylia* Date: 13 Oct 07 - 12:56 PM Thats funny, Hollowfox. I am just lighting a candle for him now, here in Canada. Still no news. No answer at his residence, and I've emailed his fellow counsellors at the clinic where he used to work part-time. No response yet. I finally got through to the Norfolk University Hospital this morning. He has not been a patient there since 2003. No calls to emerg, no nothing. But he might have taken ill en route to London or elsewhere, visiting his daughters. But I cannot possibly call every hospital in London England .... so I am still sitting here, hoping for the very best, trusting that wherever he is he is in good hands, and thanking you all very much for your kindness and help and asking you to please keep the positive energy flowing his way daylia |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: *daylia* Date: 13 Oct 07 - 12:59 PM Oops, I meant Norwich University Hospital -- the only one in his locale. |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: catspaw49 Date: 13 Oct 07 - 03:25 PM I've been following along here and I too send all my best vibes that our missing Ivor will return healthy and sound. We located the missing Mr. Rasmussen and perhaps someone will arrive here with good news. Holding lots of good thoughts. Spaw |

Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: *daylia* Date: 15 Oct 07 - 07:29 AM Will PM you, Sorcha. Don't have his mum's name, but I know his daughter's given names. If they use their dad's surname I know that too. Here's hoping, thanks a lot ... And you too, Spaw, for the comfort and encouragement. Candle's still lit, finger's still crossed ... oh c'mon Cancerman, Sir Libra, Sir Endipity, Sir Facingisnotforwimps .... please give us a boo ... be okay ... the world needs you and (most important ;-) I-I-I-I want you back ... |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: *daylia* Date: 15 Oct 07 - 08:04 AM K I wasn't going to post this here, but he DID authorize it in the first place so I bet he won't mind, and maybe it will help us find him. He works ... or, he used to work here, there's a short bio and his picture. I've emailed the counsellors there, no response. Yet. Doesn't mean there'll never be, though. Patience, patience and thinkin positive. NOthing but positive allowed here!@!!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: *daylia* Date: 15 Oct 07 - 09:48 PM Great news -- Ivor is found! He just gave us that 'boo' I asked for, through an email from one of his colleagues --- I spoke to Ivor this evening. He is in the process of changing his telephone provider and has been having difficulties because there is a delay in getting his phone working. He asked me to tell you that he will contact you when he is again on-line. Ohh thank you Universe, thank you Mudcat, thank you Ivor, thank you all! |

Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: GUEST,Autolycus aka Ivor Date: 10 Nov 07 - 05:49 AM Wowwwwwwwwwwwww !!!!!!!!! Bit lost for the right words. How kind of you - I'm heartened, and just momentarily surprised. What. meeee? So thanks. And more thanks. it's been about this technology thing. I've changed telephone and on-line provider . and it's been a slog to get a phone and email back. i confess to compounding the problem by mislaying the note from the post office that they had a parcel for me to collect - the new modem (still don't know what that does exactly, just roughly, so please save your precious fingers for the real stuff.) Still got one glitch left to sort. Plus I haven't worked out how I resume as Autolycus on the 'cat given that I have a different email address and server. I've obviously missed the obvious or am just not up to that sort of thing or I'm too lazy. (If you think the last, please take the appropriate course of inaction.) The whoe experience (or whole - whatever) has offered me some lessons. And it's sorted thanks to your good wishes (many appreciations, ***daylia*** - she's something else, isn't she, folks?), my Mars in persistant Taurus (ahem), and playing Mahler's 6th. That always wreaks considerable consequences (did I write that?) each time I play it. (I feel a new thread coming on.) Brw, I'm in good health (teeth apart), helped produce two spiffing young women,(one with her boyfriend here in sunny Norwich, theother in Coalville in Leicestershire), have a cholesteral test each year (which I last brought down using only cholesteral-lowering margerines), and was last at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for a cateract op. Scariest thing I ever experienced. Your good wishes will be some of my spiritual food for quite a while to come. Ivor I will do my best not to worry anyone, except in heavy debates. |

Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: Azizi Date: 10 Nov 07 - 12:49 PM Hey, Ivor, I'm glad to hear from you again! So your Mars is in Taurus?! My north node is in Taurus, my ascendant and my Mars is in Virgo, and my Venus is in Capricorn. Some people may think this has nothing to do with anything, but we "get" it. ;o) |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts for Ivor, please From: autolycus Date: 10 Nov 07 - 01:54 PM Thanks people. Done it Jeri, tho' thought I'd remembered the wrong password. If you have forgotten it, the 'cat can send it but not to the new email address, and i don't think I can at the old - a catch-22. Aaaaaaaaaanyway, done. Very pleased to be back. Azizi, you wouldn't happen to be a very down-to-earth, practical type, I don't suppose? Thought not. In turn, I have Jupiter in Virgo, nothing in Capricorn, and Gemini Rising, hence the jokes, and affection for Mudcat-type places, and deep superficiality. And venus in gemini. Despite which i tend to be rather loyal. Tho' it's in the 12th, so you never know. :-) As for what others think, you can't please all the people all the time. Alas. Worrying about that is the route to silence. And some people don't like that, either. There's just no pleasing everybody. btw, I've noted who has so kindly written here. Aaaaaaaaaaannnd those who haven't. Sooooooooo, - , well nothing actually. And it's rather nice when those I don -- haven't really engaged with have contributed. Life, eh. Ivor |
