Friday Cambridge Folk Club - Clive Carroll, support Hector's Heroes. Both acts should be good.

If you can get out of Cambridge with a car there's a couple of events listed on Suffolk Folk's Stop Press page.
One is in Suffolk, the other at March in the fens north of Cambridge.

There are loads of buskers on the streets of Cambridge

Some are pretty good - lots of styles and instruments

The Council is threatening to licence them to start quality control

Mention it to them for a laugh - stand well back

As well as the CFC, there are two possible sessions on Friday. There's a small session at the Carlton Arms in the north of the city, and if you're prepared to drive a bit then there's a better session at the Red Lion in Whittlesford (down the M11 to the A505, left at the roundabout, and then keep an eye out for the sign for the Red Lion and the station on the left after about a mile).

It's world music, not folk, but there's a gig this Saturday in aid of Oxfam at the Bharat Bhavan (the old library) on Mill Road. There's an African jazz group, an "eastern-folk-rock" group, and a percussion-and-singers group. The African jazz group (Matoke) are very good - don't know about the others. Details on this flyer.

And if you're staying until Monday night, there's always some singer-songwriter playing at the Bun Shop on King Street in the town centre.

Graham.

If he's staying till Monday there's an English music session on Sunday night too. I think it's the Jolly Millers, Cottenham but PM me to check if interested.
