I need the chords/lyrics to Barleycorn - Grace. As I am getting married in September and wanted to play this as a serenade type thing to my fiancee.

Hi - I know more than one version of a song named "John Barleycorn" and another named "Grace." Is this a medley? It would be a strange mix.

Titles are deceptive. Could you give us the complete lyrics, or what you know of the song? Who wrote/sang it?

I presume you mean the "GRACE as written by one of the leaders of the "EASTER REBELLION"    G   C   D, C G, Am D, G, C D, C G D G and the chorus is D, C G, C G Am D, C G, C G, D G. I hope this helps.

The song is called grace by a band called barleycorn. It was written by O'Meara and O'Meara. I think these chords may be right but I can't get it to sound good. Maybe i need a different instrument to a guitar ??

Thank you both anyway !

Yes, that's the beautiful, sad song "Grace," written by Frank & Sean O'Meara in 1985. It has become a "standard" for Irish musicians. I linked to all our other threads on the song (links are above). An acoustic guitar should work with this song - but the emphasis should be on the singing, not the guitar. give a try to the chords Big Mick posted in this thread (click).
If you follow all the threads listed above, you may find other arrangements. Click here to play the tune.
Best of luck with it.

The song was not written by one of the leaders of the Irish Rebellion but it is about one of them - Joseph Mary Plunket who was executed after the Easter rebellion in 1916.
