Subject: I was April Fooled From: RangerSteve Date: 04 Apr 04 - 07:07 PM I started a thread here a few days ago, because I got some information from a reliable source that the Country Music Hall of Fame was inducting some old-timers for a change. In case you didn't see that thread, the old-timers were Gid Tanner, Fiddlin' John Carson, Ernest Stoneman, DeFord Bailey and Charlie Poole. I found out this morning that it was an April Fool's joke. To the few who responded to the thread, I apologize. |

Subject: RE: I was April Fooled From: Ebbie Date: 04 Apr 04 - 08:55 PM A neighbor of mine was told by her daughter that there was a "big, black bear in the street right in front of our house". My neighbor rushed to a window to see, and then reacted to "April Fool!" Keep in mind that in our town a big, black bear's presence is a distinct possibility. There is no recorded instance of harm from a local bear to any human but parents worry about their small children. |
Subject: RE: I was April Fooled From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 04 Apr 04 - 09:38 PM Wondering who had received the 'Hall of Fame' seal of approval, I looked at the list. You can find it at: Nashville country music Hall of Fame . There also is a Texas Country Music Hall of Fame: Texas Fame It don't have none of them fellers neither. |
Subject: RE: I was April Fooled From: Dave Bryant Date: 05 Apr 04 - 04:45 AM No it wasn't a big black bear - it was Avril Betts in a big black bra! |

Subject: RE: I was April Fooled From: Willie-O Date: 06 Apr 04 - 09:20 AM Pierre Bourque, who runs a Canadian news site at www.bourque.org ran an April fool story that PM Martin, to boost his flagging prospects in our upcoming election, was about to completely deep-six the much-disliked GST (Goods and Services Tax), which adds 7% to any above-ground transaction not-including sales tax. Talk about dreaming in technicoleur. Black bears in town? April fools jokes are supposed to be unusual. Village down the road had two in one afternoon last year. |
Subject: RE: I was April Fooled From: Avril Betts Date: 06 Apr 04 - 10:42 AM Well since you asked Martin darling, my bra size is 40DD and of course you can look if you want to. Are you a young man looking for a mature lady of generous proportions and passionate temperament by any chance ? |
Subject: RE: I was April Fooled From: Dave Bryant Date: 06 Apr 04 - 10:48 AM Avril Betts went to buy a new bra Down at the lingery super-bar. "What Bust ?" asked the saleswoman in some doubt. "Nothing", said Avril, "It just wore out !". |
Subject: RE: I was April Fooled From: harpgirl Date: 06 Apr 04 - 10:53 AM I thought up a good one for my accountant and I tried it out on Nathan, my son first. I told Nathan I had to cash in a bunch of investments I had saved for his college to get an operation in May. He asked what kind. I said, "a sex change operation." He looked stricken and said "but why, mom?" I said, "I just don't feel like a woman. I feel like a man." He got panicked and said, "Mom, you're a woman, I know it. You're not a man!!!" I then said "April Fool!" He was mad all day.... I did it to my accountant and she kept her best nonjudgemental accountant face on and said "I wouldn't have thought it of you". What was going through her mind I later found out after I said "April Fool" was, How could I have misjudged her for all these years? How can I trust her to watch Samantha?,Oh well, I guess that wouldn't make any difference," and "Why do I attract these kinds of people???? hahahahah |
