I'm going to Finland for the first time later this month - will be in Helsinki for a few days, then up north to Kuusamo for several days. Any recommendations for folk music clubs, musicians to look out for, music stores, etc would be much appreciated.

We (Chippenham Morris) have just spent a long w/e in Helsinki and thoroughly enjoyed it Thanks to Helsinki Morrisers and Eken Morris (Stockholm)

Not so sure about 'Folk' but Skiffle is very big over there - a band whose members I know call themselves The London Philharmonic Skiffle Orchestra and seem to go out to Finland every year to do Festivals .
