Ralph Mooney Like so many of the other California musicians who changed music forever, he was born elsewhere. Oklahoma, in this case. His family came west in the Depression. Mooney helped form the Bakersfield Sound, a movement sometimes credited to Wynn Stewart, sometines to others. |

It's classic - dripping with Bakersfield soul - could be it's what insured the hit status of that song. The story I heard says the steel was an older model with only 2 pedals - used in a pinch when they discovered they thought they'd done all the session's songs and found "Together Again" had been overlooked. Out in a hallway or in a corner somewhere lay the older and easier to reconstruct model so they threw it together and made a slam dunk! Sorry to hear another great musician is gone. |

Brumley. He replaced J. D. Maness in the Desert Rose Band's last record, giving it a great deal more drive than their earlier work. |
