Dear All

The PHOENIX MUSIC CLUB will have its GRAND OPENING NIGHT this week on THURSDAY 27TH NOVEMBER.

Starting from this week, the Phoenix Music Club will put on regular folk and roots events in the heart of Sheffield. The events will include mainly music and song, but also story-telling, dance and spoken-word performances.

We are also working within communities around Sheffield - getting our performers out and about, and encouraging people to share their culture, beliefs and ideas through music, song, dance and story-telling. We believe that music can be the shortest distance between two people.

(find out more at http://phoenix.lowtech.org/about/)

This Thursday, let us tempt you with:

* ANGEL BROTHERS + SATNAM SINGH;
* PETE MORTON;
* CRUCIBLE;
* and more and more...

Still more? OK, how about a bar, a raffle, and MARINATED OLIVES (yum).

WHERE: The Blind Institute, Mappin Street, Sheffield, S1 4DT.

WHEN: Thursday 27th November 2003 - doors open at 7.30pm - event runs from 8pm-11pm.

HOW MUCH: Tickets cost £6 and £3.50

For more information about our opening night, see:

We hope to see you there,

Best of luck. My non attendance is because of my regular Thursday night Palm sesh. Don't forget to plug the Folk Music Subsription Room.
