30 Jun 06 - 08:06 AM (#1772648) Subject: Good news for Kendall From: kendall I had a session with my speech therapist the other day, and he gave me considerable hope that my voice will return. In the process of doing the exercises, I sang a long clear note, (A or maybe Bb, I don't have perfect pitch)! According to him, when the true vocal cords failed due to the removal of a piece of one of them, the false cords took over, and they are not able to do the same job. Now they are firmly in charge, producing growls, and reluctant to give over to the real cords which could do their job if the false cords would back off. My regular ENT says that the damaged cord has grown back to within a millimeter of completly filling in the gap which was produced by the removal of the cancer. So, with considerable work and exercise, I should be able to sing again! |

Sinsull started sending me things of that ilk (a closk that scares you to death, a turkey that sings Turkey in the Straw while flapping about, a chicken doing the chicken dance, a reindeer........it's all awful) and now I get this damn thing from Jacqui and Liz the Squeak and I fugure I'll harass Kendall about it!!!! I am however looking forward to seeing the "Joint Concert".......My gawd, what a sight!!! Not a real pleasant one, but at least entertaining........... Spaw |
