Burl Ives CD

Yesterday at Borders Books and Music, I was delighted to find a CD of one of the first Burl Ives recordings my wife bought for me almost forty years ago. "The Wayfaring Stranger," is a recording that my three kids grew up listening to, and it's one of my favorites. There were several CDs released after Burl Ives died, but this one was not one of them. Anybody else remember this one?

For anyone interested, multiple LPs of this are available on Ebay. Maybe the CD - I'm not sure.

Yep..I have TWO LP copies of "The Wayfaring Stranger" ..one was worn to a fare-thee-well years ago, and one is almost mint... that I found in a junk shop...it was one of the first 3 folkish records I owned...about 1962

Did Down to the sea in ships get made in to CD if so where can you get one

I had an LP of "The Wayfaring Stranger" along with several others by Burl Ives until a few months ago. I grew up memorizing and singing his and Belefonte's recordings. I miss them.

"Fifty Years From Now" has been a favorite Burl Ives song. We have his CD for kids (of all ages) "A Twinkle In Your Eye".

I got a CD form 1-2-3 Oldies, who specialise in converting vinyl to CD for stuff that has never been released commercially.
