Subject: RE: Review: James Keelaghan in the UK From: Pauline L Date: 04 Feb 05 - 12:54 PM He is great! I saw and heard him a few years ago. Now he has trouble getting into the U.S. to perform because Homeland Security requires a very long time advance notice to check out his shady background. This sounds like the making of a good song. UKers, you're lucky to get him! |

Subject: RE: Review: James Keelaghan in the UK From: Pauline L Date: 10 Mar 05 - 05:40 PM Roger, thanks for the photos. They're great. Can you tell me anything about the fiddler, Jane Clark, or the #2 guitarist, Hugh McMillen? I especially like the photos of the fiddler. She is pretty and, besides, holds the violin and bow in a way that is picture perfect. I plan to show it to my beginning fiddle students. |

Subject: RE: Review: James Keelaghan in the UK From: Clinton Hammond Date: 10 Mar 05 - 05:53 PM "Can you tell me anything about the fiddler, Jane Clark" What do ya wanna know? She's the CUTEST little fiddle player I've ever seen.... when they played Windsor Ontario last, my wife gave me permission to propose to Jane, so we could keep her in Canada.... Unfortunaly, Jane has beeter taste or something... She was, if I recall correctly, originally a late-in-the-game replacement fiddler for Oliver Schroer, who was unable to play the tour... No offence to Ollie at all, but I'm glad we got to see/hear her! "Hugh McMillan." One time member of one of the BEST Canadian Bands ever, Spirit Of The West, Hugh is like a force of nature... He plays Bass and mando, like NO ONE I've ever seen before... It's worth the price of admission just to watch him FINGERPICK his mano! Then there's that goofy dude in the middle... I donno who he is... I think Jane and Hugh let him carry the gear or something... :-P |

Subject: RE: Review: James Keelaghan in the UK From: The Barden of England Date: 11 Mar 05 - 12:10 PM Saw James, Hugh and Jane at Faversham - what a brilliant night, and I'll be seeing him again at the Fylde Folk Festival in early September. Pauline L - I have known Jane Clark for a number of years, and a nicer young lady you couldn't wish to meet, and what a great fiddler she is too, and I am lucky enough to have her playing on my CD 'Head for the Hills'. She comes from Kent in England, but now lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. If you want to know more about her try this link http://fyrefly.dk/, you won't be disappointed John B |

Subject: RE: Review: James Keelaghan in the UK From: Pistachio Date: 12 Mar 05 - 08:37 AM I missed this thread but thoroughly enjoyed James K with Jane and Hugh at Cottingham last month. Superb set and 'extra' solo from Jane was captivating. Some where on her website is a mention of ' people who smile so much' and Jane is one! James was the master songwriter, with his wonderful words and tunes but I think it was very hard for many in the audience to take their eyes off Jane...she obviously delights in performing...and is a skilled musician. Every one ended up smiling - quite amazing. An excellent evening. |
