...tomorrow night the moon and I are going down to Crawfordville to hear Norman Blake...he sings Wilf Carter songs on "Chattanooga Sugar Babe". Who is Wilf Carter?

Don't know who Wilf Carter is but many of the tunes on that particular CD are his own.

Ahhhhhm, Wilf Carter!!!!! He was mostly known as Montana Slim in the US. Most of what you can read about him on the internet is linked from this site Always glad to spread the good word, certainly an old time favorite of mine.

Have a good time ~~ Norman is one of my many favorites, one who always entertains, no matter how many times you see him!

Going to Troy, NY, April fools day, to see Norman and Doc and Tony all at once...not to mention Doc's partner, Jack Lawrence, who is a relative media unknown, but picks at the same level...

What has happened to Nancy Blake? She has not been on the last couple of albums. 'Chattanooga Sugar' has a dedication 'For Nancy Blake'. Has she died or have they split up? I loved the recordings they did together.

...Dale thanks for those links. He is a great yodeler. I remember having a conversation with Freddy Labour about Montana Slim back in Ann Arbor. And imagine, he was from Nova Scotia! I am going to hunt up some more of his music!

Norman and Nancy Blake are now Norman Blake and Nancy Blake. They are divorced and he is "seeing" a woman who lives in Monticello, Florida ... approximately 30 miles northeast of Tallahassee.
