Subject: Nice Person Award - Norman Blake From: wilco Date: 22 Nov 02 - 10:25 AM I'm in Chattanooga, Tennessee (SE USA), about fifteen miles from the home of Norman and Nancy Blake. Norman is very, very generous with his time and talent, doing a;ll kinds of benefits. Today's paper listed another one here in Chattanooga in a Methodist Church, benefiting Camp Lookout, a summer camp for disabled kids. The article mentions his most recent album, recordeed at the late Maybelle Carter's home in Mace Springs, VA. Norman, Nancy (his wife), and two new unknowns, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, were involved, as were other Carter family members. Anyway, I like to try to let no go deed un-noticed. Norman and Nancy do dozens of these every year. |

Subject: RE: Nice Person Award - Norman Blake From: Steve-o Date: 22 Nov 02 - 02:16 PM Thanks, Wilco48- doesn't surprise me at all that Norman has a big heart. He's more than a "nice person". I can't get enough of the "Fower From the Fields of Alabama" album, and I'm off to pick up the "High Lonesome Cowboy" one he did with Tony Rice, Don Edwards, and Peter Rowan tomorrow! |
